Aaranya Kaandam : A raw product.

Produced by S.P.B charan's Capital Film Works and directed by debutant director Thiagarajan Kumararaja starring Jackie Shroff, Ravi Krishna, Sampath Raj, and Yasmin Ponnap,the film is  heaping laurels from all parts of the world.Earlier the movie was in the lime light for its record 52 cuts by the censor board and it was later legally handled by the producers of the film.Now that all issues have been sorted the movie is slatted for a grand release in U.S.A on June 10th.

The film has been in the making for the past three years and it was filmed in many prestigious film festivals like the South Asian International Film Festival and it also won the Grand Jury award.The movie has also been nominated for Melbourne and Sydney Film Festivals.The word is that the movie has been shoot in such a raw manner which makes it so unique and special.It is to be noted that the films IMDB rating is 7.1/10 even before its proper release. Well film buffs a just longing to get a taste of this raw product.

Mangatha - A Cop and Thief tale.

The shoot of Ultemate Star Ajith's 50th film Mangatha is over and the film is in the pre-production stages.Producer Dhayanithi Alagiri is making all arrangements for a grand audio release later this month and the film is slated for a July release.Thala fans across the state are eagerly awaiting the release of this film and here is a small slice on the plot of the film.Sources close to the director have said that Ajith plays a hot shot gambler in the city and Arjun plays the role of a cop and interesting chase sequences between the two forms the crux of the plot which has been shot in a stylish and racy manner.Looks like the movie would be a run away hit this summer as the vibe around the crew is so positive.

Shankar : Only few minor changes...

Here is the latest on Shankar directed Nanban which is a Tamil remake of blockbuster 3 Idiots.  Director Shankar was recently at an event held in Chennai and when few of the reporters asked him if "Nanban" would be scripted in his own style based on the original, this is what the director had to say: "Nanban will have only few minor changes to suit the regional audience and apart from that it would do justice to the original script".Further the directors said that almost 70% of the shoot is over and the makers are planning for a diwali release.The crew is currently in Chennai after canning shots in Ooty,Europe and Coimbatore.Nanban is one of the most expected films of the year,starring Illayathalapathy Vijay in the lead role ,it also has Jeeva,Shrikanth,Sathyaraj in important roles while Illeana plays the female lead.

Director selvaragavan and Kamal Hasan have zeroed in on the title for their next film as Viswaroobham which has Bollywood sensation Sonakshi Sinha opposite to  kamal.The film is said to be a Psychological triller whose script has been finalised by both the director and Kamal.The director will have final talks with the heroine during the first week of April when she would fly down to chennai to discuss her outfits and look for the film.The movie was earlier rumored to be a remake of Hollywood flick HanniBal and it was later denied ,as it was said to been a new and fresh script which has been worked out by Selvaragavan and Kamal.The film would start rolling from the mid of April and team plans to shoot in Hyderabad,Chennai and London.

 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' aka OKOK which has famous producer Udhyanidhi Stalin playing the lead role and hot n happening Hansika motwani as the female lead and Santham as the comedian.It is directed by Rajesh of Boss engera baskaran fame which is his third film as director and he has music director Harris Jayaraj in his crew for the first time.The film is progressing fast and the director has planned to wrap up the shoot in the next three months.To support the cause the film's music director harris Jayaraj was recently in Singapore to work on the music of the film and he is said to have completed three sound tracks for the film in just a weeks time.The team is seen canning shots at many busy localities in chennai and the director is said to have completed 20% of the shoot which includes a song sequence as well.Thats really fast... 

Venkat Prabu plans for a grand release on May 1st.

                                                

Ultimate star Ajith starrer Mangatha has been the talk of the town ever since it was launched last year.The fact been that it is thala Ajith's 50th film it gets bigger and better when you have some one like Venkat Prabhu yielding the megaphone.It was reported earlier that the film would hit the screens on May1st ,thala Ajith's birthday,but unfortunately due to the pending action sequences in the film which would consume more time than expected the release has been postponed by a month.Now Venkat prabhu  is currently in Mumbai with Ajith and the other crew members canning the heavy action sequences around the famous Dharavi slums in Mumbai know to be the largest Slum in the whole of Asia.Sources close to the director say that since the movie has got postponed he is planning for the audio to released on May 1st since he did not want the fans of Ajith who expected to watch their favorite star's movie on his birthday. If reports are to be believed the director has asked the films music director Yuvan Shankar Raja to perform live on stage on the eve of the audio release.Well the film just gets bigger and better by the day.Mangatha has Ajith in the lead role along with  Ajith, Arjun, Trisha, Vaibhav Reddy, Premji Amaran and lakshmi rai.The film is produced by Dayanithi Alagir under the banner Cloud Nine Movies.

New additions to Mani's Camp

Now the latest on Mani Rathnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan is that the ace director has managed to rope in
one of the very best cameraman in the industry,its none other than P.C.Sreeram for this big budget extravaganza which is set to take off soon.Mani Sir is finalizing the cast for this flick which is a multi starrer with Illayathalapathy Vijay in one of the lead roles and has telugu superstar Mahesh Babu along with Sathyaraj and Anushka plays one of the female leads.A.R Rahman will deliver the background score and there are also reports that the producers are planning to depict the epic in more than one part with different heroes playing the  lead roles in each.

Director A.R.Murugadas has canned an exclusive opening song for actor suriya in his upcoming big budget flick 7am Arivu.The song is said to be one the highlights of the film as it has about 1000 dancers from various dance troops shaking legs with the actor and the other being that the song has been shot in more than 40 locations in and around Chennai.As per reports the director has got special permission from authorities to shoot in one of the most popular and crowded location in the city,the Ranganathan Street in T.Nagar, Chennai.Suriya who has been seen concentrating more on his opening songs from his past few films seems to have gone a step further.7am Arivu features Sruthi Hasan along with the actor,while the music is composed by Harris jayaraj and directed by A.R.Murugadas.

As per the latest reports of the industry insides Superstar Raginikanth has managed to rope in his close pal and legendary actor Amithab bachan for his upcoming big budget film Rana to be directed by K.S.Ravikumar.It was reported earlier that Rajini had approached bollywood actress Rekha for an important role in the movie which was declined by actress who is known as a good old friend of Ranjini. But never the less the Superstar has managed to convince his close friend and actor Amithab Bachan for a crucial role in the movie and the coming together of these to legends is set to take place after two decades would be one of the highlights of this mega budget flick.

Seeman to wait for Vijay.

Illayathalapathy Vijay who is currently busy warping up the shoot for the Raja directed Velayutham would join director Shankar's camp for the third schedule of the hindi remake of three idiots tentatively titled Nanban in tamil. Nanban stars Jeeva,shrikhant,sathyaraj,ileana and SJ Suriya along with Illayathalapathy Vijay .It was said earlier that after Nanban Vijay would work with director Seeman on the explosive script titled Kobam earlier and Pagalavan later.But since Vijay has been signed by Manirathnam for his magnum opus Ponniyin  Selvan it looked as if Seeman's pagalavan had been shelved .But sources close to the director say that the director would concentrate on the upcoming assembly elections as of now and he will wait for Vijay's dates till he completes Mani's Ponniyin Selvan .So it looks like Seeman's explosive Pagalavan will surely take off but at  a later stage.

Vikram is very much in Mani sir's next.

We all know that it has been conformed that Illayathalapathy Vijay,Mahesh Babu are in Mani Rathnam magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan and veteran actor Sathyaraj has been roped in to play another important role,while Anushka plays one of the female leads.But it was said that Vikram is not a part of the project vowing to some misunderstanding between the director and the actor.But we learn from industry sources that Vikram is very much a part of this project and his role has been kept undisclosed.So chiyaan Vikram and Illayathalapathy Vijay along with mahesh babu are set to work together on one of the biggest projects in Tamil  film Industry.We wish them all success in there venture.

THALA Vs THALAPATHY ...

This is something which every Thala and Thalapathy fan would look forward to.The latest on the Ajith starer Mangatha is that its release has been postponed  which was earlier scheduled on May 1(Ajith's Birthday).The reason for this as per the director is that the bulk action sequences to be canned in and around Mumbai which is a time consuming task.On the Other hand the Vijay starer Velayutham is brisk progressing as per schedule and it is slated to be a June 2011 release ,most probably 22nd of June(Vijay's Birthday).But since Ajith's Mangatha has been postponed industry sources predict that it could be the biggest clash of the year with both these films racing with each other for a possible June,2011 release.we will keep you updated on this prediction.
